The Syracuse Astronomical Society hosts FREE public observing sessions, i.e. Star Parties, when weather permits. Held at the Darling Hill Observatory in Vesper NY (directions), a 16 inch Cave Newtonian telescope allows viewing of many celestial objects in great detail. The telescope was originally purchased with funds donated by TACNY!
Public observing sessions will be held on the following dates in 2024:

- 28 June
- 26 July
- 23 August
- 27 September
- 25 October
Please check the SAS website for the latest information on schedule changes due to weather or other conditions. Viewing suitability is decided by 5pm on the dates listed.
