Joe Palese will give an insightful overview of the evolution of rail technology. The discussion will cover the amazing transformation of how science has been leveraged to consistently transform the way the industry has developed, deployed, maintained, and improved rail equipment and infrastructure. Dr. Joe Palese is a Senior Scientist and Program Manager: Railroad Engineering and Safety Program at the University of Delaware. Throughout his 30 year career, Dr. Palese has focused on acquiring and utilizing large amounts of track component condition data for planning railway maintenance activities through development of new inspection technologies and analytic software. His experience includes developing offerings for customers across the globe, and is highly sought after for his technical expertise. Dr. Palese has a Bachelor’s and PhD of Civil Engineering, from the University of Delaware, along with an MBA from Rowan University, and is a registered professional engineer in the state of NJ.
