23rd Celebration of Technology Awards Banquet
TACNY is pleased to announce the winners of the 23rd Celebration of Technology Awards! Join us as we recognize the best in STEM in Central NY.
The following are the award winners, categories and criteria:
– Jason Steeger (SRC) – TECHNOLOGIST OF THE YEAR – A resident of Central New York who has made recent outstanding contributions to advances and improvements in a STEM field, not limited to engineering.
– Lesen (Haracz) Gleason, P.E. (Barton & Loguidice) – YOUNG TECHNOLOGIST OF THE YEAR – A resident of Central New York, 35 years old or less, who has made recent outstanding contributions to advances and improvements in a STEM field.
– SemaFor Research (S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University) – STEM PROJECT OF THE YEAR – A current outstanding technology project, invention, or process designed, invented, or constructed in Central New York.
– American High – STEAM COMPANY OF THE YEAR – A Central New York STEM company that has made recent outstanding contributions to new or innovative products, processing technologies, or productivity leading to enhanced business.
– Dr. Farzana Rahman (Syracuse University College of Engineering and Computer Science) – COLLEGE EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR – An educator who has made outstanding contributions in STEM Education at the college level in Central New York.
– Katherine Mittiga and Wendy Davis (East Syracuse Minoa Central High School) – CO-HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATORS OF THE YEAR – An educator (Grades 9-12), not necessarily a teacher, who has made outstanding contributions in STEM Education at the high school level in Central New York.
– Steve Bacon (North Syracuse Central School District) – ELEMENTARY/MIDDLE SCHOOL EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR – An educator (Grades K-8), not necessarily a teacher, who has made outstanding contributions in STEM Education at the elementary or middle school level in Central New York.
– Kyle Spivak (Lockheed Martin) – STEM OUTREACH, INDIVIDUAL – A resident of Central New York who has increased interest in science or technology or expanded opportunities for people with limited access to science or technology.
– Oswego County P-TECH (CitiBOCES) – STEM OUTREACH, ORGANIZATION – An organization in Central New York that has increased interest in science or technology or expanded opportunities for people with limited access to science or technology.
– John Trimble, P.E., LEED AP and John Spina (C&S Companies) – LIFETIME ACHIVEMENT AWARD

Keynote Speaker: Joe Nehme, Senior External Affairs Manager at Micron Technology. The title of his talk is “We Chip, You Chip: Creating Opportunities for Everyone in Tech.”
