Research and development is inherently more difficult to predict than serial production. One is all about managing a process that repeats with no changes, the other is something that has never been done before and doesn’t repeat. While developers, engineers and marketers are good at understanding the steps to realize the dream, predicting a launch amidst uncertainty in a complex development is challenging. Let’s talk about some modern methods for progressive elaboration, risk evaluation, and the statistics of done.
Speaker Bio:
David Kellner has been with Welch Allyn/Hill Rom/ Baxter product development for 17 years and previously worked at a smaller med device company. In his current role as part of the research and innovation team where he leads a team incubating growth projects in support of the business mission. His experience includes Design Engineering, Systems Engineering, Program Management, and Engineering Management. David holds a BS in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering as well as a Master’s degree in Engineering and Management both from Clarkson University.
