The BioBlitz will be held on July 30th, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, rain or shine. Please bring your phone or tablet to log observations. Installing and trying the iNaturalist app ahead of the event is recommended.
Attendees will be grouped into 5 teams that represent different kinds of life. Keeping track of how the number of loggings makes for a little friendly competition. The current team categories are divided as follows:
- Moss/Lichen & Insects
- Fungi & Reptiles/Amphibians
- Trees/Bushes & Birds
- Plants in bloom & Fish
- All other plants (includes aquatic plants) & Mammals
People with expertise with some of these categories of life will be available to answer questions about species ID. If an expert is not available to help in person, experts can be accessed by logging your find in the iNaturalist app.
